The Old Hill Street Police Station (OHSPS) is one of Singapore’s most iconic and recognisable landmarks, renowned for its vibrant rainbow-coloured windows, and its rich history. Built in 1934, it originally housed the Hill Street Police Station and Barracks, and was once Singapore’s largest government building.
Prior to this, the site was the location for the Assembly Rooms, comprising a space for public functions, a theatre and a school. With its striking architectural design, 927 colourful windows, and unique cantilevered balconies, OHSPS was gazetted as a national monument in 1998.
Today, it is home to two government ministries, the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY).
